The JEDD (Joint Economic Development District) Park is a 25-acre athletic field complex located at 2275 Pickle Rd., Akron, OH 44312 (next to Schrop Intermediate School). The complex was constructed through the cooperative efforts of Springfield Township and the City of Akron in joint economic development. The land is owned by the City of Akron and is located in Springfield Township.
The property includes three softball/baseball fields, one baseball field and a soccer field. A covered pavilion, concession facility and maintenance building along with indoor restrooms are also part of the complex.
The baseball/softball fields can accommodate any age for youth softball and any baseball game 12U. The mounds and bases can be moved to meet the needs of any age group. The baseball field includes base paths that are 90’ long with a pitching mound 60’6” in length. The field is the current home of the Springfield Township Athletic League (S.T.A.L.) and the Springfield Spartan High School baseball team.
The park hosts many local, regional and national baseball/softball events as well as soccer games and tournaments throughout the year. For more information on renting the facility or advertising please download the application.
